June 22, 2001

Dear Cursillistas,

Welcome to the first of hopefully many Cursillo Leaders Retreats. Our Cursillo Movement has been very blessed to have your time and talent serving others on Cursillo Weekend Teams.  Being a Servant and witness to others so that God can work through you is being a Christian Leader. Your Love of God and others creates the desire to serve others. At Cursillo we are ALL called to be Leaders to serve others. I want to personally thank you for saying Yes to God’s call to serve Him and others. Part of the commitment of a Cursillo Leader is continued Formation about the Cursillo Movement and Method. Our School of Leaders objectives are: spiritual development, community development, formation and identification of environments within our diocese to evangelize.

The objectives of this Retreat are:

1.      Community development of Leaders

2.      Spiritual direction

3.      Formation

Our spiritual director for the Retreat is Deacon Jim Breazile. I’m sure many of you receive his Spirituality 101 messages, let’s consider this retreat the first of many more Cursillo Leaders Spirituality and Formation 101 experiences. This weekend will be a great opportunity to get to know and pray with each other and to learn and share our Catholic faith together as a community.  Sounds a bit like a Cursillo Weekend doesn’t it?  It’s important that Cursillistas have opportunities like this retreat to receive as well as give or serve by working on Cursillo Weekend Team every 6 months. My palanca for you on this Leaders Retreat has been weekly adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Mass, Rosary and fasting on Friday since our Cursillo weekends in April.

“The Harvest is Plenty the Laborers are few.” Please join me in evangelizing and praying for more Servant/Leaders to do the work of the Cursillo movement in Eastern OK.  CHRIST IS COUNTING ON YOU.

DeColores!

Your brother in Christ,

Steve Krause
